I've always been interested in statistics, but some may wonder.... "Why are statistics important?"  And to that I say:
 
1.  At  Doctors Care, statistics assist the Behavioral Health Team (BHT) understand the diversity of patients that we see. Many have challenging histories of past traumas or current substance abuse issues.  Statistics put in perspective the issues Doctors Care patients face and areas the BHT can focus on to better serve their needs.
 
2.  On a larger scale, statistics assist Doctors Care by identifying both the diversity and quantity of patients being treated by the BHT. This information becomes valuable to the development team as they apply for grants to assist in funding for the agency. Statistics give meaning, direction and focus.
 
In the mere fourteen months since the BHT was established at Doctors Care, we have grown in focus, organization and emotional support for one another.  It is because of the strength, trust and respect developed between the BHT teammates and the overall agency that we are capable of doing what we do each day.
