The Little Things

Friday, June 28, 2013
I really love our conference room. I love that the tables can be configured in many different ways. I love that the chairs are so comfortable. I love that it has great light. I love that we have the most current technology that allows us to use the space for education purposes. But mostly I love that our internal and external communities have a wonderful gathering place to work together. Blog post contributed by Executive Director Bebe Klei

Change

Friday, May 31, 2013
Change is usually thrust upon us. I don’t think I look for it or openly receive it but for some reason I often hang out in the same room with it. Usually I turn my back on it, maybe take a peek in its direction, quickly look away, but it creeps up on me. What I have noticed about change is that it usually sidles up slowly, inching oh so carefully as if I won’t notice, and then suddenly it is standing on my toes and I have no choice but to notice and embrace it. I remind myself not

Obsess About Success

Friday, February 01, 2013
I do this most of the time. I do this when looking back on the past 18 months, reflecting on the move into our new facility. I do this when I think about our transition to electronic health records. I do this when I think about our many programmatic achievements, integration of behavioral health service, and growth in our physician network; but most of all when I speak with patients who thank Doctors Care for changing their lives for the better. I do this as I look back on my 15 years at

At Doctors Care, our services and programs are growing and improving all the time. Our strategic planning efforts ensure that the organization and staff are anticipating, predicting, and shaping the course of our changing future, listening carefully to our environment, and shifting and re-steering as often as needed. In response to these factors, we are pleased to announce the release of our 2011 Annual Report online. Click here to see what we have been up to this past year, and view our

Centura and HealthONE Pledge their Support!

Thursday, May 10, 2012
Doctors Care is pleased to announce the joint commitment made by Centura and HealthONE hospital systems to our capital campaign “Opening Doors to Health Care.” Each hospital system has pledged $150,000 to support the growth and continuation of care for our community. We share this news with extra vigor knowing that our partnersh

Your Donation Fuels This Dream

Tuesday, November 15, 2011
If I had a dollar for every time someone said “What a beautiful facility!” my job would be a piece of proverbial cake. It is our dream to give every individual the care that they need and deserve, comparable or better than any other doctors’ office you would enter. It doesn’t matter if you’ve lost your job, fallen on hard times, or are simply in transition. You deserve top-notch care, and we are here to give it. While we do have digital signage that fo

Patience, Persistence, Perseverance

Thursday, September 22, 2011
Wow, these three words hit home for me right now. If you come inside Doctors Care, you’ll find us learning new things as we are busy with: training our clinical staff in the use of our new electronic health record, going “live” with new software to manage our network of 900 providers and program patients, integrating new staff and volunteers, and raising capital funds for our new location These activities are important pieces of the puzzle that allow us

Patients Touched By Our Move

Friday, September 02, 2011
Yeah! Doctors Care has moved! Working so closely with patients, I get to hear many of their comments about our new space. And I am appreciative of the way they openly express their feelings when they first come into the clinic. Some of the things I hear from them are: “I love the space and the new technology.” “It was time for a facility that looks professional and modern.” The staff and volunteers here daily are working hard to keep everything organi

“How may I help you today?”

Friday, July 29, 2011
This is often how my patient encounters start. Sometimes the answer is simple and easy; often it is a reflection of the complex health and social challenges our patients face. As I keep in mind the resources I can draw from to support our patients, I am proud we integrate the many facets of optimizing health at Doctors Care … oral, mental and physical health. Those who I work with are also passionate to maximize our ability to reach out and give the health care that so many ha

What is “HIT”?

Friday, July 15, 2011
HIT, or Health Information Technology, is a blanket term for many types of technology and software that are used in the health care and insurance industries. For Doctors Care, HIT refers specifically to two new software systems: eClinicalWorks and Plexis Care Management software. In the near future, eClinicalWorks will serve as the electronic medical record (EMR) for clinic patients. This software will store patient demographic information (such as name and address), our provider sch
