Sliding-Fee-Scale Program

Provides health care at greatly-reduced costs to those of any age who qualify.

What We Do

The Doctors Care sliding-fee-scale program gives patients in South Metro Denver access to health care at an affordable cost. To find out more about Doctors Care, please see our About Us page.

Are You Eligible?

The Doctors Care sliding-fee-scale program is for patients who:

  1. Live in Arapahoe (excluding Aurora), Douglas or Elbert counties.
  2. Have limited income.
  3. Do not have health insurance, Medicaid, or Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+).
  4. Have a medical concern (if over the age of 18).

How Do We Work

Doctors Care works with a network of five area hospitals and almost 900 medical providers who agree to donate their time and services for the medically underserved. In that network there are over 80 different specialties, including several alternative medicine providers (like chiropractors and acupuncturists).

Sliding-fee-scale patients are assigned to a primary care provider who will see them at his or her office. The primary care provider will make referrals for Doctors Care network specialists as needed. Due to our large network of providers, nearly every specialty need can be addressed. Mental health care and medication management are also available on-site for Doctors Care patients.

Our program provides patients over the age of 18 with two years of discounted health care.  Those under 18 can utilize the program for as long as needed.

Doctors Care is not an insurance company. Contributions and the generosity of participating physicians, hospitals, pharmacies and laboratories make our programs possible. Patients help maintain positive relationships with physicians by showing up to scheduled appointments, paying assigned sliding-fee-scale payments and co-pays, following medical advice and using the emergency room appropriately.
