Keep It Simple

Thursday, July 24, 2014
I’ve been at Doctors Care for a year and a half. During this time, there have been many changes in the healthcare system. The country seems torn apart on healthcare − on who should get it and who should not. Also key to the debate − who deserves it and who doesn’t deserve it? If you take out the politics, the answer becomes simple. If you, a loved one, a co-worker or a neighbor gets sick or develops an illness, we all agree the answer is to seek treatment. I don&

A Place to Call Home

Thursday, July 17, 2014
During my third year of medical school, I found myself walking through the doors of the Doctors Care clinic for my pediatric clerkship. Maybe it’s that I’m lazy. I’ve always been amazed by volunteers, asking, “why do they do this”? That is up until my time with Doctors Care. Since my time with Doctors Care I don’t ask the question anymore. There are too

Nurse Practitioners Know You Are Special

Friday, May 09, 2014
When given the opportunity to create a blog, I was prompted to think more about the role I play as a nurse practitioner in the evolving insurance and health care reform processes. More importantly however, I would like to discuss the potential power I have as a member of a formidable discipline to mold and influence health care delivery at Doctors Care. Nurse Practitioners typically have a post-nursing bachelor’s and master’s degree in a specific discipline. They have a fine-tun
