Financial Information

Every story has an antagonist and protagonist. They create the tension needed to keep the reader engaged. You root for the protagonist because they are the story’s hero. But, without the antagonist, there is no story. Whether fiction or non-fiction, a person or situation always keeps our hero from saving the day. However, in most novels, the protagonist finds a way to overcome adversities and emerge victorious.

In 2022, Doctors Care’s villain continued to be the COVID-19 pandemic. Even with innovative solutions, Doctors Care still struggled to stabilize our front-line workforce. Stabilizing clinic staff is crucial to our mission of providing high-quality, accessible health care. Though this was our adversity, we began to see a silver lining as we approached 2023. Funders, local and state governments, and donors came together to address the challenges by creating workforce training, sustainable wages, and apprenticeships that launch trained people into the workforce faster.

So, who are the protagonists in Doctors Care’s saga? It is our community. Our dedicated team that show up every day, ready to take on what comes their way. It is our incredible supporters, like you, that keep our programs and services vibrant. We are doing exciting work in partnership with other organizations to reach deeper into communities struggling with healthcare access. We help so many people gain health insurance through our work with Connect for Health Colorado and Medicaid. Our Care Coordinators open doors to patients needing specialty care and hospital services. With support from many, we expanded behavioral health, navigation, and access to resources that alleviate the burdens presented by the social determinants of health.
